The children’s opera “Chardak neither in heaven nor on earth” introduces children to the world of imagination, showing the struggle between good and evil in an interesting and educational way. Through interaction with the characters of this traditional Serbian fairy tale, children have the opportunity to identify with the heroes and help them free their sister by solving the riddles set by Dragon.
The theme of this author’s work of Marija and Branislav Cvijić is the love of brother and sister and loyalty to true values. Evil is defeated and injustice is corrected. The time and location of this opera are set in old Serbia.
The Association of Artists “Visoko C” premiered this opera for children on January 13, 2022 in the Cultural Center of the City of Novi Sad, as part of the event Doček 7530.
The play lasts about 30 minutes and is intended for children aged 2-14.
