On October 20, 2019, the Association of Artists “Visoko C” premiered the children’s opera “Puss in Boots” at the Eđšeg Cultural Station in Novi Sad. “Puss in Boots” is an opera for children written in 1912. It was written by the great Russian composer Cesar Antonovich Cui (1835-1918), a member of the Russian five prominent composers who brought a new stage in the development of the opera genre. Caesar Cui is the first Russian composer to write an opera for children. Famous works: “Puss in Boots”, “Snow Hero”, “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Naive Ivan”. The main feature of his compositions is the combination of passion and poetry, which reaches the deepest parts of the human heart with sincerity and penetration.

Written in four pictures, the opera “The Puss in the Boots” describes a well-known fairy tale about the heroism of a cute cat. The cat manages to turn a poor young man into a rich marquis through interesting and unpredictable situations. With his skills, he deceived Ljudoje, he conquered the castle and the marquis became a real opportunity for the king’s son-in-law. The wedding is the happy ending of this fairy tale, which is sung with beautiful music written for all participants in the opera.

The play lasts 40 minutes and is intended for ages 2-14.
