On October 17, 2021, the Association of Artists “Visoko C” premiered the opera for children “Cricket and Ant” at the “Eđšeg” Cultural Station in Novi Sad.
Aesop’s fable “The Cricket and the Ant” found its place in children’s literature as one of the most beloved and sought-after stories. We were presented with a simple lesson of this story, which is: “He who works – has” or “He who works is not afraid of hunger”.
The project is designed for children to participate interactively all the time so that in one part of the play they support the Cricket, and in the other part they support the Ant. The controversy over whether it is better to play or work, or work with music and song, is a challenge for us to make children think about what is the real goal in life.
In addition to the Cricket and the Ant, a Forest Fairy appears in the role of a narrator who communicates with children, sings and recites a story. The work is designed for children up to 11 years of age and lasts about 30 minutes.
