Little Red Riding Hood

The children's opera "Little Red Riding Hood", created in 1988, was written in two parts for soloists, choir and piano. The music and lyrics were written by Petar Jovanović, and as he says, the book is intended for elementary and music school students. It combines music, poetry, dance, fine art (costumes, decor) and theater art. The well-known story about Little Red Riding Hood who, going to her grandmother's house, encounters a wolf and thus gets into trouble from which the hunters save her, inspired the composer to write a melodious, playful and singable opera for children.

With a small adaptation of this piece, the association of artists "High C" learned, staged and performed this piece for the premiere on the stage of the "Open University" in Novi Sad on December 20, 2015. The wonderful reception of the audience is another form of motivation and encouragement - the youngest should be given as many harmonious and educational works as possible and influence their musical taste and maturation.

The performance is intended for children aged 2-11 years.
