Baš-Čelik

Baš-Čelik

As part of the Doček 7527 project, the Association of Artists "Visoko C" performed the premiere of the children's opera BAŠ ČELIK on January 13, 2019, on the stage of Pera Dobrinović at the Serbian National Theater. The music was composed by Aleksandar Bahun, and the libretto and direction by Branislav Cvijić. Jovana Balašević, a well-known Novi Sad actress, joined the ensemble of the Association of Artists "Visoko C" at the premiere. The children's opera "Baš-Čelik" is the first musical-stage work written on the theme of a Serbian fairy tale. The youngest have the opportunity to step into the fantasy world of Serbian heroes in addition to Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella. It is a world of giants, dragons, the fight between good and evil, shown in a comical, entertaining but also educational way.

In eight scenes, kids have the opportunity to identify with the main character, with the prince or the princess, who will defeat Baš-Čelik and the giants and thus find happiness with their love and devotion to true values. The story of Baš-Čelik is not simple, and it requires the involvement of a large number of people, behind the scenes and on the stage. A large number of costumes, rotating scenography, demanding music and direction contribute to the positive situation of engaging a large number of people and creating something new and significant for our culture.
